About Miles Harrop
The Coach, The Trainer and The StudentPurpose Statement
I am Miles, the founder of Miles Harrop Consulting. I am passionate about empowering individuals, teams, and organisations in the areas of Strategic Change Management, Sales and Influence, Leadership Coaching and High-Performance Coaching.
I believe that skills, knowledge, and coaching empower individuals and teams to achieve more with less effort. Everyone has the right to improve and ultimately become the best version of themselves. My purpose is to help them achieve that.
The values I adhere to in order to fulfill my purpose are
Absolute Inclusivity
Embracing diversity of thought and person, promoting functional equality, and actively fostering a sense of belongingness.
Knowledge and Awareness Create Power
I believe that everyone has the right to increase their power. Skills, knowledge, and opportunities contribute to personal empowerment.
Incremental Improvement
You can always get better. It may not happen as quickly as it does for others, but improvement is possible.
Effortless Experiences Rule
Change is constant and can be challenging. Change techniques should not add to the complexity; instead, they should alleviate it by being simple and actionable.
Servant Leadership
I express my belief in people and leadership through servant leadership. While adaptive leadership is sometimes necessary, my overall philosophy is centered on empowering and strengthening others through authority, trust, and commitment to shared goals.
Honesty and Trust
Trust is built over time through numerous interactions, but it can be shattered in an instant. I cannot do this work without being honest with you, and I expect the same level of honesty from you.

My Experience
I have been involved in the leadership, coaching, and training world for most of my professional life.
As a young champion bodybuilder and powerlifter, my initial coaching and training experience took place in the gym, where I worked as a personal trainer. Even today, you will still find me in the gym, working out or engaging in some form of physical activity nearly every morning. Over time, I progressed into leadership positions, embracing the diverse challenges of business and sales.
Throughout my career, I have led various teams, including leadership, sales, and customer service teams, in service industries, retail, and high-velocity e-commerce.
In 2017, while serving as a shareholder and director of a UK-based fitness equipment company, I embarked on an executive MBA program (better late than never they say). This experience reignited my passion for knowledge and learning. I chose to focus my dissertation on one of my favourite and popular training topics: influence.
More specifically, I delved into the influences along the digital path to purchase. Through ongoing research and extensive interviews, I rediscovered what many academics before me had also found: people are not always rational when making decisions but are rather capable of bounded rationality under certain conditions. I discovered things that we could do to improve trust, strengthen relationships, increase customer loyalty and offer a more effortless customer experience.
I implemented these findings within the company and am pleased to say that the principles have proven effective. I cover all of this content and updated models in my “Path to Purchase Selling” course.
Admission and Apology: Influence at Work
Naturally, the above statements and content are intended to influence you, enhance my credibility and appeal to the market. As a person interested in influence, you recognise this as we all engage in this self-appreciating and congratulatory behaviour. To be authentic, I must acknowledge this tendency. I must also acknowledge that I have “failed” more times than I have succeeded.I have learned a bit more from my “failures” than my success. Failure (whatever that means) is a part of success. There cannot be one without the other.
The truth is, I have yet to meet anyone who hasn’t faced significant challenges in their journey, although many individuals may not publicly admit to it and may claim everything went according to plan. Let’s preserve their reputations, shall we?
I have experienced tremendous growth points throughout my fascinating career. I have reframed these failures as opportunities for growth and challenges. This is a mindset that I have incorporated into my coaching approach.
The Miles Harrop Differentiator
When it comes to influence, leadership and sales, what sets me apart from other sales “experts” is that I do not consider myself a natural Influencer or leader. Instead, I am passionate about helping others. This client-centric attitude is gaining support and recognition worldwide. My coaching and training style is honest, direct, evidence-based and accompanied by a sense of humour. Life is too important to be taken too seriously.
Education and Certifications
This section is placed at the bottom, as experience always surpasses education alone. My diverse education and certifications bring a fresh and creative approach to various topics.
As already mentioned, I hold an MBA specialising in majoring in Strategic Change Management, and Path to Purchase Marketing. Additionally, I possess certificates in Management Studies, Counseling Psychology, ICF-accredited Coaching, NLP, Hypnotherapy, Contextual Therapy, and Personal Training. I may even have a first-aid certificate somewhere.
Throughout the years, I have attended seminars and courses led by impactful and grounded individuals, including Edward de Bono, Roy Hunter, Ard Neuwenbroek, and Steven Covey amongst others. I cannot recall who helped me obtain the first-aid certificate, but if you are reading this, thank you for teaching me how to put a splint on a broomstick. I use this skill every day.
Conclusion
If you are a business person, entrepreneur, or reluctant sales professional, I understand the challenges you face, and I may be able to help. You don’t have to compromise who you are to achieve success in selling your product. I have developed a solid selling foundation and methodology that even introverts can learn and apply.
That’s me, not quite in a nutshell. If you are wondering whether we can engage in some fruitful business together, why not reach out and let’s have a chat? What have you got to lose?
